Posted by: Matthew

Is Satine Really Satine?

Posted by: Gabriel Santos

In the recent episodes of Star War: The Clone Wars, we were introduced to Duchess Satine Kryze of Kalevala and, as we learned, was a past of love Obi-Wan Kenobi. Now as we all know, Obi-Wan was portrayed by Ewan McGregor in the prequel trilogy. Ewan McGregor also starred in another film called Moulin Rouge!, in which his character fell in love with a courtesan also named Satine, played by Nicole Kidman.

Now was all this just plain coincidence or was it a tribute by The Clone Wars production team to the actor who made Obi-Wan so great?
